Summer Cheese Series: 🎬 Celebrity x Cheese Pairing: When Flavor Meets Fame

At Charqute, we believe cheese isn’t just food—it’s a personality. Some are bold and moody, others are smooth and crowd-pleasing, and a few bring that wild-card energy you didn’t see coming. So we asked ourselves…

What if every cheese had a celebrity twin?

To answer that question, we teamed up with the brilliant and hilarious Nona Melkonian (@nonamelkoni) for a truly iconic episode in our Charqute Cheese Series: Celebrity x Cheese Pairing.

We looked at texture, taste, character, and charisma, and matched each cheese to a celebrity that embodied its spirit. The result? A red carpet lineup of cheeses that’s as flavorful as it is fun.

Let’s meet the cast, shall we?

🧀 Brie = Zendaya

Flavor Notes: Buttery, soft-ripened, elegant, and slightly earthy

Why Zendaya?

Brie is the definition of poise. It’s smooth, mild, and effortlessly luxurious—never loud, but always commanding attention. Zendaya embodies that same grace. Whether she’s walking a runway or starring on screen, she brings timeless energy with a modern twist. Brie is Zendaya in dairy form.

🧀 Blue Cheese = Billie Eilish

Flavor Notes: Bold, tangy, sharp, funky

Why Billie?

Blue cheese isn’t afraid to push buttons. It’s polarizing, unapologetic, and unforgettable. That’s Billie Eilish to a tee. Just like blue cheese, Billie owns her space. She’s daring, different, and always leaves an impression. You either get it, or you don’t—but if you do, you’re hooked for life.

🧀 Manchego = Pedro Pascal

Flavor Notes: Nutty, firm, slightly tangy with a smooth finish

Why Pedro?

Manchego is a Spanish classic—mature, approachable, with just the right edge. Pedro Pascal brings that same vibe. He’s charming, grounded, and gives just enough mystery to keep us coming back. Whether it’s on a board or on screen, Manchego (and Pedro) steal the spotlight without trying too hard.

🧀 Goat Cheese = Miley Cyrus

Flavor Notes: Fresh, tangy, creamy, and slightly rebellious

Why Miley?

Goat cheese walks into the room and makes it interesting. Just like Miley, it’s not here to blend in—it’s here to be bold, bright, and a little chaotic (in the best way). It’s the wild card on the table and the spark at any party. Sweet? Sometimes. Spicy? When it wants to be. Miley and goat cheese know how to keep it exciting.

🧀 Gruyère = Ryan Gosling

Flavor Notes: Savory, nutty, smooth, with an irresistible melt

Why Ryan?

Gruyère is the smooth-talking gentleman of cheese. It doesn’t need flash—it wins you over with warmth and depth. Ryan Gosling, whether he’s singing in a jazz club or delivering dry wit in Barbie, is just as universally adored. Reliable, dreamy, and the kind of presence that brings everything together.

🧀 Aged Cheddar = Taylor Swift

Flavor Notes: Sharp, crumbly, complex, with long-lasting flavor

Why Taylor?

Aged cheddar knows who it is. It’s bold, nuanced, and keeps evolving—but never loses its roots. Taylor Swift is the same: she reinvents herself, gets sharper with time, and manages to resonate across generations. Whether you’re Team Red, Folklore, or 1989, aged cheddar gets you.

🧀 Fontina = Chris Stapleton

Flavor Notes: Buttery, earthy, melt-in-your-mouth comfort

Why Chris?

Fontina is soulful. It’s rustic, rich, and feels like home. That warm, slow burn that stays with you? That’s Chris Stapleton. His voice lingers like a creamy melt, and Fontina brings that same heartfelt, authentic vibe. Understated, but unforgettable.
