Dietary Alternatives on Our Charcuterie Boards: Vegan, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free & Pork-Free

One of the questions I get asked almost every week is some version of "can you accommodate my guest who's vegan?" or "can you leave off the nuts?" The answer is almost always yes, and it doesn't cost you anything extra. Substitutions are something we take pride in offering at no additional charge, because dietary restrictions shouldn't mean someone gets left out of the spread.

Here's exactly what we can and can't do, board by board.

Vegan

Fresh vegan ingredients including hummus, chickpeas, tomatoes, cucumber, grapes, and bread on a wooden surface

Vegan is available on pretty much every board we offer, with three exceptions: the Mini Board, Charcuterie Cones, and Charcuterie Cups. Everything else in the lineup can be built vegan on request.

Gluten-Free

Gluten-free friendly ingredients including cheese, gluten-free crackers, grapes, dried apricots, olives, and cured meats on a wooden surface

Gluten-free is available across the entire lineup. One thing I want to be upfront about: we are not a dedicated gluten-free facility. If gluten-free is a preference, we've got you covered. If it's a medical necessity, like for someone with celiac disease, we can't guarantee the level of separation and cross-contact control that requires, so please take that into account before ordering.

Nut-Free

Nut-free ingredients including cheese, salami, crackers, grapes, figs, olives, and cherry tomatoes on a wooden surface

We can build any board without nuts on request. Same disclaimer as above applies here: we are not a dedicated nut-free facility. This works well for a preference or a mild sensitivity, but it is not a safe option for someone with a severe nut allergy.

Pork-Free

Sliced turkey and beef with cheese, crackers, olives, and grapes on a wooden surface

We offer turkey and beef as substitutes for pork-based cured meats. This is available on everything except the Mini Board, Charcuterie Cones, and Charcuterie Cups.

How to Order

We prefer at least 48 hours of advance notice on any order with dietary restrictions, so we have time to source substitutions properly. In rare cases we can accommodate same-day or next-day requests, but that depends on availability and seasonality, so it's never guaranteed. The earlier you tell us, the more options we have.

Dietary Alternatives FAQs

Is Charqute a gluten-free facility?
No. We are not a dedicated gluten-free facility, so we can accommodate a gluten-free preference, but we can't guarantee the cross-contact control needed for celiac disease.

Is Charqute a nut-free facility?
No. We can leave nuts off any board on request, but we are not a dedicated nut-free facility, so this isn't a safe option for a severe nut allergy.

Which boards don't offer vegan or pork-free substitutions?
The Mini Board, Charcuterie Cones, and Charcuterie Cups don't currently offer vegan or pork-free options. Every other board does.

How much advance notice do you need for dietary restrictions?
We prefer 48 hours. Same-day or next-day requests are sometimes possible depending on availability and seasonality, but they aren't guaranteed.

Is there an extra cost for substitutions?
No. Vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and pork-free substitutions are all included at no additional cost.

If you're planning an order with guests who have dietary restrictions, just let us know when you reach out and we'll build the board around what everyone can actually enjoy.
